Notre skipper, R\u00f6bi, a fait le plein de victuailles. Cela nous permet de prendre un bon d\u00e9part. Apr\u00e8s avoir pass\u00e9 la nuit au port, nous partons en haute mer, en direction de l\u2019\u00eele de Sainte-Lucie. Les aliz\u00e9s, ces vents typiques des Cara\u00efbes, soufflent tr\u00e8s fort. Ils gonflent notre voile. Notre navire fait des pointes \u00e0 20 n\u0153uds. Il danse sur les vagues hautes. C\u2019est intense.<br>Puis c\u2019est l\u2019arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 Sainte-Lucie, et l\u2019ancrage dans la magnifique baie de Marigot. Nous voguons ensuite jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la Grenade, en passant par les \u00eeles Mystique, Union, les Tobago Cays. Nous nous arr\u00eatons sur les plus belles plages. Nous plongeons \u00e0 la rencontre des tortues, p\u00eachons \u00e0 la ligne, dansons sur la musique de Steel Bands, d\u00e9gustons des cocktails en \u00ab\u2009happy hour\u2009\u00bb, et savourons tout ce que la cuisine cr\u00e9ole \u2013 ou notre \u00e9quipage \u2013 nous offre. Mon meilleur souvenir culinaire restera ce pain \u00e0 la banane. Nous l\u2019avons particuli\u00e8rement appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 accompagn\u00e9 d\u2019un petit verre de rhum local.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-le-temps-s-ecoule-autrement\">Le temps s\u2019\u00e9coule autrement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous arrivons \u00e0 la Grenade \u00e0 la moiti\u00e9 de notre p\u00e9riple. Depuis plusieurs ann\u00e9es, nous transformons des couvertures Grand Cru fabriqu\u00e9es par Max Felchlin AG \u00e0 partir de cacao produit sur cette \u00eele. Evidemment, nous voulons saisir l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 de rendre visite \u00e0 notre producteur. Apr\u00e8s une course en taxi sur les routes escarp\u00e9es de l\u2019\u00eele et un arr\u00eat rapide dans une c\u00e9l\u00e8bre distillerie de rhum, nous rencontrons Andrew Hastick \u00e0 la Grenada Cocoa Association. Il nous montre la mani\u00e8re de fermenter, de s\u00e9cher et d\u2019entreposer les f\u00e8ves de cacao fra\u00eechement r\u00e9colt\u00e9es. L\u2019apparente simplicit\u00e9 de tout le processus est impressionnante\u2009: aucune machine ni installation co\u00fbteuse. Tout est affaire d\u2019improvisation, de (beaucoup de) patience et de passion. Les heures passent autrement que chez nous. Je suis d\u00e9j\u00e0 conquise\u2026 Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce qu\u2019Andrew nous emm\u00e8nent sur sa plantation. Et l\u00e0, j\u2019adore\u2009! En lieu et place de rang\u00e9es d\u2019arbres bien align\u00e9es, comme on peut s\u2019y attendre, je d\u00e9couvre une v\u00e9ritable jungle, le berceau d\u2019une multitude de vari\u00e9t\u00e9s v\u00e9g\u00e9tales. Andrew nous guide \u00e0 travers ce foisonnement. Il nous raconte l\u2019histoire de chaque plante. Pour nous donner du courage en vue du trajet de retour jusqu\u2019au bateau, nous d\u00e9gustons du lait de coco d\u2019un fruit fra\u00eechement cueilli.<br>Cette journ\u00e9e fait partie de mes meilleurs souvenirs de ce voyage. Merci encore \u00e0 Andrew de nous avoir servis de guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-une-experience-unique\">Une exp\u00e9rience unique<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>De la Grenade, nous repartons en direction de la Martinique. Nous profitons de la suite de nos vacances. Nous nous arr\u00eatons sur de petites \u00eeles et faisons de nouvelles rencontres. Elles contribuent aussi \u00e0 faire de ce voyage une exp\u00e9rience unique. Budda a m\u00eame accept\u00e9 de me confier la recette de son fameux pain de banane.
